Ken was born in Toronto, but moved to Scarborough with his wife Vera shortly after their marriage. There they have remained, raising two children, Deborah and Donald. Ken and Vera have three grandchildren, two boys, who have both assisted with staging G & S productions, and one granddaughter. Shortly after joining The Scarborough G & S Society in 2001, Ken retired after forty-two years with Golden Mile Motors in the parts and service departments. Since then he has kept busy with volunteer work on the executive of the G & S Society, first as treasurer, then as secretary-treasurer. Ken is very involved with the music program of his church, West Ellesmere United, both as a member of the choir and a violinist for the worship services. He is a member of the board, as well as maintaining the church web site, and acting as a secretary in the preparation of church bulletins. He enjoys entertaining at senior’s residences, along with a group of violinists and singers.
This is Ken's seventh show since joining The Scarborough G & S Society. While he has enjoyed singing with other fine community choirs, he finds the combination of singing, acting, and choreography to be very challenging and satisfying. Each performance is new and fresh, and makes him wish he had discovered this opportunity much sooner.
